The Whitley County Historical & Genealogical Society, Inc., is a non-profit organization that began in 1996. We are staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers who devote their time and enthusiasm. We have a current nationwide membership of over 400.
Our primary goal is to keep all the history of WhitleyCounty and its citizens, communities and cities through preservation, documentation and education. Our outreach programs involve work with civic groups and the local school system.
Our research facility is open to members as well as the public. We offer a wide range of books, family resource sheets, and an ever expanding archives of photos. Our Research Library is operated in conjunction with our museum that enables everyone to take a leisurely tour of treasures from times past.
Our operating hours are each Wednesday from until and the first and last Saturday of each month from until . If you are visiting from outside the local area, we will try to schedule special times for you.
